2017 Toyota 86 Debut and Release Date
Earlier this year, we found out that popular Scion models would transition to the Toyota brand and join an already diverse model lineup. Among those models was the performance-tuned Scion FR-S, which has recently made its debut as the rebranded 2017 Toyota 86 at the New York International Auto Show.
As more and more information has come to light concerning the 2017 Toyota 86 debut and release date, we can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the thrilling new sports car. Filling a void in the Toyota model lineup, the Toyota 86 promises plenty of turbocharged thrills, all wrapped in a sleek package. Look for the new Toyota 86 to join the White River Toyota inventory in fall of 2016.
All-New 2017 Toyota 86 Design and Specs
Making its debut alongside the refreshed 2017 Toyota Highlander, the all-new rear-wheel drive Toyota 86 has us chomping at the bit to slide into the driver’s seat. An upgrade over its Scion FR-S predecessor, the Toyota 86 capitalizes on an athletic design with a low, wide stance that is punctuated by a revitalized front bumper, larger air intake and new LED lighting systems. The back end of the sporty Toyota 86 follows suit, with new LED taillights and a new rear bumper design to go with a dual exhaust. Alloy wheels with a twisted spoke design complete the 2017 Toyota 86 exterior style.
An athletic new design would not be complete without the performance-tuned powertrain to match. Under the hood, the 2017 Toyota 86 will implement revised shocks and an altered spring rate to amplify handling and agility. Paired with a refined six-speed manual transmission, the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine will manufacture 205 horsepower and 159 pound-feet of torque. A new Hill Start Assist Control will prevent the new Toyota 86 from rolling back on steep grades as well.
Inside the 2017 Toyota 86, you will find a driver-focused cockpit that is punctuated by the new Toyota 86 logo. A new Grandlux material covers the instrument panel and accents the door trim, adding a plush, luxurious feel to the cabin. New seating material is accented by silver stitching and the Toyota 86 logo, translating to a comfortable and stylish interior design. At the center of the new Toyota 86 coupe, a sporty steering wheel with central 86 logo provides easy access to integrated audio controls.
Built on an inspiring and athletic design platform, the all-new 2017 Toyota 86 will be a welcome addition to the White River Toyota showroom later this fall. Don’t forget to mark the 2017 Toyota 86 debut and release date on your calendar for this fall and schedule a test drive when it arrives. Promising an explosive, performance-tuned driving experience, the Toyota 86 sports coupe will cater to adrenaline junkies in the Vermont and New Hampshire area.
