Prepare for Thanksgiving Early with 3 Great Tips
Thanksgiving is a week away and so the clock is ticking down on preparing your feast! Many tend to cook everything the day of, or a little before, in order to have maximum freshness. We think that you should save yourself the headache and prepare a little sooner than that! Continue reading to see our three tips for preparing your Thanksgiving early this year!
1. Prep Your Turkey for Roasting
Don’t cook the bird now, but you can do a ton of other little tasks that let you tackle how you plan to cook it early. If you’re going to brine or try dry brining your turkey, we recommend that you do it anywhere between one and three days beforehand. Additionally, if you plan to use a compound butter before roasting, you can make it and store it in the fridge a week or so beforehand.
2. Make the Mashed Potatoes Early
This might come off as sacrilegious for some thanksgiving celebrators, but you can save a ton of time by simply making your mashed potatoes as you normally would and then putting them in the fridge. You can then reheat them on the stove, in the oven, slow cooker, or microwave as needed. A dollop of sour cream, cream cheese, or similar stirred into them will help fix any issues reheating might cause.
3. Get the Cranberry Sauce Done
Making your cranberry sauce early is another thing that we highly recommend you do. It can be easily made early and frozen ahead of time as, due to its sugar, it is essentially a jam that can be frozen or kept in the refrigerator for some time. Just freeze it and then thaw it in the fridge overnight before Thanksgiving Day.
These are just three of the many ways you can make your thanksgiving meal less of a hassle while cooking this year. To learn more about holiday tips, or vehicle tips, check out our blog! To learn more about great vehicles, or to take them for a test drive, contact our dealership today!
