A forest scene with fall leaves What is the status of fall foliage colors in Vermont

Warm fall weather has extended fall foliage viewing opportunities

Is there still time for leaf peeping in Vermont?

The relatively warm fall we’ve been having to this point has been nice for several reasons. Chief among them is that it has extended the fall foliage season. In a normal year, the leaves would be hitting their peak brilliance, if not already well past it.  If you have been hoping to still have a chance to get out and see, this is the year. Vermont’s many state parks are also closing very soon. Our sales staff has done some research and found places you can still visit to get the best look at all of the fall colors.

When is the best time to see fall foliage?

Changing weather conditions can affect the fall colors in a major way. As part of the White River Toyota effort to be a primary source of information, we have found this very handy tool to help people plan the areas they want to visit. You can easily change the viewable region by clicking and dragging elements on the map. Enjoy!

Several of the state parts in Vermont close on Columbus Day. However, there are few that will be open through the weekend (Oct. 14-Oct. 16) and more yet that are open year-round.
