Woodstock Youth Hockey
Every spring over one thousand kids descend on rinks of the upper valley to enjoy a sport they love; hockey keeps them active and healthy during a weekend of fun and green ice. For the fifth year in a row, White River Toyota will be the title sponsor of the Woodstock Youth Hockey Pot O' Gold Invitational. When Woodstock Youth Hockey Vice President, Kim Gaines, reached out to us in 2014 we were excited at the opportunity to promote a sport that encourages discipline, and has a deep cultural connection in the community. We love hockey, and we love our community.
Woodstock Youth Hockey and Skating Association got its start in the 1970's as a very small rural youth hockey league. In 1991 there were just 23 kids under the age of 10. That season was a tipping point for the league, which expanded to over 120 kids in the next four years. Not long after that the league had grown too large for the amount of rinks available. In November 2003, Union Arena was opened and Woodstock Youth Hockey had a new home. To learn more about Woodstock Youth Hockey, or to get more information, please visit woodstockyouthhockey.org
